Volunteering

Although scholarships are awarded to students across the United States, Upakar is headquartered in the Washington, DC area.  We always welcome enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help us increase awareness and funding throughout the U.S., to help the organization grow, gain momentum and reach even more deserving individuals in our community.

A Few Ways to Volunteer:

· Hold an independent fundraiser to support Upakar scholarships

· Help spread the word about Upakar by requesting the brochure at upakarfoundation@hotmail.com and

o distributing at local events

o posting at Indian grocery stores, places of worship and community centers

· informing local high schools, educators, and guidance counselors about Upakar

· contacting local TV, radio, and newspapers about Upakar

· Volunteer at the next Upakar fundraiser by

o selling tickets

o promoting the event among your friends and family

o helping with pre-planning or day-of event duties

· Help gather information on grants, foundation or other sources of funding for Upakar.

· Anything else that you can think of!
